At this edition of QoMEX, we organize a special session once again to support PhD students in early and advanced stages of their PhD with timely expert advice. In this event, PhD students amongst the attendees of QoMEx can ask for speed mentoring slots of exactly 15 minutes with experts in different fields of Quality of Experience and User Experience. The slots will be in a 1-to-1 private format, will be scheduled in parallel with all experts, and will allow PhD students to get advice on narrow as well as wider-scope questions related to their studies and their scientific career. The overall session will last for 80 minutes, including a 5-minute introduction and 5 sessions of exactly 15 minutes – strict time-keeping will be enforced!
In order to apply for PhD Mentoring @QoMEX 2019, applicants have to fill in a form with a few personal details, a scientific CV (pdf document with 2 pages max), as well as a list of max. 4 questions they would like to be addressed in the mentoring slot(s). The questions are considered as a starting point for the mentoring discussion, but do not need to be strictly followed in the discussion. Each PhD student can apply for a maximum of 3 slots with different experts. Depending on the number of registrations and available slots with the experts, the mentoring slots will be scheduled with one or several of the chosen experts in a non-overlapping way.
